2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Named North American Car of the Year™, a Record-Setting Fourth Win for Civic
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid has been awarded the prestigious North American Car of the Year™, marking a record fourth win for the Civic nameplate — more than any other model in the award’s 30+ year history.
This honor is the second for the 11th-generation Civic and the seventh overall for a Honda vehicle, including previous wins by the Ridgeline and Accord.
“We are honored that leading automotive journalists have recognized the Civic Hybrid,” said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant VP of Honda Auto Sales. “Our hybrid models are central to Honda’s electrification strategy and are expected to make up 40% of Civic sales.”
About the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid
Now available as both a sedan and hatchback, the 2025 Civic Hybrid combines fun-to-drive performance with fuel efficiency and a refined design. Powered by Honda’s fourth-generation two-motor hybrid-electric system, it delivers a class-leading 200 horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful non-Type R Civic ever.
Key features include:
- 50 mpg city rating (Sport and Sport Touring Sedan)
- Enhanced ride comfort with unique suspension tuning and noise reduction
- Premium interior quietness with Active Noise Control and wheel resonators
Built in North America, Powered by Innovation
The hybrid power unit is built in Ohio, paired with an all-new 2.0L Atkinson-cycle engine manufactured at Honda’s Anna Engine Plant. The Civic Sedan is produced in Alliston, Ontario, while the Hatchback is made in Greensburg, Indiana.
Honda has built nearly 12 million Civics in North America, with over 5 million produced in the U.S. since 1982.
Honda’s Electrification Momentum
Celebrating 25 years of hybrid leadership, Honda’s electrified lineup now includes the Civic, Accord, CR-V, and all-electric Prologue SUV, with a hybrid Prelude arriving in late 2025. Over 25% of Honda’s 2024 U.S. sales are from electrified models.
